Midlife Look? No Way.

Not too long ago, I found I had become overweight for my height.  For me, weight has been an issue during times of "change" in my life.  Now that I'm middle aged, I refuse to be labelled  middle aged due to my weight and weight distribution.  I like to be my best & look my best!

And so, like other times in my life, I took matters into my own hands.  I knew what to do.  I started by managing my food intake, checking my exercise plans, and looking at any emotional eating.

*Proportion size.  Using a luncheon plate instead of a dinner plate.  Luncheon plates are about the size of our stomachs.  By not heaping my luncheon plate, I provide myself with the proper amount of food with out overeating.   No seconds either until I give my stomach ample time (10-15 minutes) to let me know if I am full.  Many restaurants in the USA serve portions that are truly meant to be like 2-3 meals.  Too much food!  So I will portion out what looks like a luncheon plate size and the rest ei…

Love and Respect Yourself

I love and respect myself by making as healthy of choices that I can.  How?  I learn what ingredients, in our cosmetics/makeup,  foods, and  jewelry, that are  toxic to our well-being.

I'm a big believer in healthy ingredients.
In our cosmetics there are many toxic ingredients used that actually are doing the opposite of what the product says it's for!  What???  Example, Glycerin.  Glycerin is used in cosmetics for anti-aging and healthy skin.  Glycerin acts on the skin by making it soft, smooth, and dewy.  Nice, but at what cost to your health?  Glycerin takes moisture from the inside of your skin cells and places the moisture on top of the skin creating the illusion of dewy young skin.  But what about the interior of the skin cell?  Our skin cells interior is important also for healthy skin.  And so if you think of it, I'm guessing by taking moisture from within the cell and distributing it on top of the skin will actually make the skin age!  Wow.

Grounding

When I was young, I used to feel out of sorts at times.  I would feel like I was standing in another dimension where the world around me wasn't quite real.  It would make me feel fearful and insecure.  It's hard to actually describe the actual feeling of this, but I do know now that it's called being "ungrounded".

What is being grounded?  To be grounded is to feel secure, confident, in the present moment, belonging,  and well grounded.  To feel grounded you are stable, solid, feeling like yourself, and feeling like you're all here and not floating off in to another world.

The obvious benefits are:  feeling solid on Earth, feeling positive, feeling confident, feeling like you belong, and security.

All people, especially people who are energy readers, sensitives, empaths, and anyone who has  high vibration energy, needs to stay grounded.  If not, the consequences are not fun to experience.  Like I said above, the feeling is at times overwhelming if you don'…

Aura Health and My Choices in Life

An aura or electromagnetic field, is a part of every person and object on the planet.  The aura is the extension of our energy past our physical bodies made up of four bodies. The Ethereal body, the Emotional (Astral)  body, the Mental body, and the Spiritual body.
Each body has it's own energy vibration.

 The Spiritual body is the highest energy vibration we experience unity as one.  This body connects us to Divine Being.

The Mental body have our thoughts, ideas, and rational & intuitive perceptions.  The energy vibration here is lower then the Spiritual body, but higher then the Emotional and Ethereal bodies.

The Emotional body (Astral body) contains our emotions, beliefs, our character traits.  A person who has worked on their feelings, beliefs, character traits, will have a clear colored aura.  A person who has not worked on their emotional development, will have a chaotic, cloudy aura.  A person who has not worked on their emotional development will also tend to have &qu…

I have a confession!
I am trained to be a Reiki Master practitioner, but I do not have all the answers.
In the past, I have sensed people looking at my Reiki/blog site and sensed the too often criticism of, “She is no Reiki Master!”
What is a Reiki Master?A Guru?A spiritual leader who knows exactly the right things to say and do?A master(teacher) in all aspects of Reiki healing? A person that talks and believes in only about the spiritual?
Personally, to me, a Reiki practice is a way to bring whole health to myself and others. I enjoy Reiki energy healing, but I will not pretend it is the only way to “feel healthy or get healthy.”  I believe in the value of many different healing modalities including eating whole and healthy.  And so to be an effective Reiki Master, I believe in sharing not only the value of Reiki, but also  whatever I believe can be helpful to you as a client or the public.
