Be There!

Teenage Barn swallow babies.

At times in life, we need to do things we do not like to do.  There are jobs that we need to do out of necessity and not out of desire.

Life calls us to not only follow our hearts to our passions and what we love in life.  But it also calls to us to do the hard jobs, the jobs we do not like to do.  Life asks us to do it with joy and love in our hearts.  Which means, being positive about doing these jobs we do not like.

If we go to a job and keep our attention in our mind, complaining about the job, we may miss out on something special.  When we are focused in our minds, we are not in the present moment.  Thus, we are in the future or the past in our minds.

When we are in the future, we may be feeling anxiety and worrying.  When we are in the past, we may become depressed.  People can go into the future and the past, but we are not meant to stay there repeating and staying focused in these areas.

When we stay in the future and past too much, we miss out on the life in front of us.  The life we are meant to feel, see, and experience.  The joys in life and the sorrows in life.

Next time you find yourself thinking back, even just hours ago, notice what you are experiencing in the present moment.  What do you remember of what you were holding?  How about what the person next to you said to you?  What color was that car that passed by you?  What did the air smell like in the room you were in?

I'd imagine you can't remember.  That's because you were in your head, either in the past or the future, either worrying about something or feeling down about something that happened and you want to change it.

We miss out on LIFE when we are focused in our, minds.

Like I mentioned in one of my other articles, the day you cross-over to your spiritual home, will you be able to remember what different things felt like on Earth?  Your sensory experiences?  The fragrance of a summer night?  How about what it felt like to taste your first ice cream? The feel of your first kiss?

To end this, I will share my story I just experienced.  I hope this will illuminate how important it is to be in the present moment, not only for your own empowerment, but for your own joy and happiness.

(Empowerment because people and our Souls are our strongest when we keep ourselves mainly in the present moment.  We are aware.)

The past couple of months, we've had a Barn swallow's nest under our front porch by our front door.

My husband doesn't care for the birds to be around the house due to their fecal messes they leave behind.  I, myself do not care for the fecal messes either, but I'm willing to put up with them to have the birds around.  The Swallows eat tons of bugs, they are beautiful to watch fly (acrobatics), they are beautiful to see perched, they are nice to hear their calls, they are like watch dogs with their warning chirps when strangers or animals come near, and it is amazing to watch the baby birds grow up and leave the nest.  The grown babies leave the nest, but they come back on and off for about a month.

I guess sort of like having our grown children leave home.  But off and on they appear back home to receive lots of good home cooking, laughter, and love.

We have two types of Swallows on the eves of the house.  We have Barn swallows and Cliff swallows.

This mother Barn swallow at the front door has raised one brew of babies last month and now she is on her second batch of babies.

With the grown Barn swallow babies, they all fly in and out of our front porch.  They perch on the chairs leaving their fecal messes here and there.

Throughout the summer, I've cleaned up the messes a couple of times that was focused on mainly two areas of the front porch.

But lately, I was dreading going outside and cleaning up their mess.  Because it was major job due to the bird family flying under the porch and perching.  The mess was even on my front door!  Yuk!

But I pushed myself outside to bleach the whole front porch, door, chairs, and anything else that was marked with "white" matter.

About a few days earlier, I had noticed a brilliant-colored Blue-green chrysalis hanging off my front porch roof by our door. I had taken photos of it in hopes of identifying it.  It was amazing looking.

Back to cleaning my front porch.

Like I said, I was scrubbing the whole front porch, chairs, walls, door, and windows with a firm bristled, long handled brush and a soapy bleach solution.

As I was scrubbing, I noticed out of the corner of my eye I saw something fluttering.  I looked up to catch a quick glimpse of the newly created/hatched Monarch butterfly just leaving its chrysalis behind and entering the world.  What an exciting and amazing experience to see!  I have never experienced that before until this day.  The brilliant, bold colors and the joy this butterfly felt to enter this world again, but as a new creation/ a new being was awesome.

Present moment!  If I had been in my mind complaining and feeling sorry for myself, I would have surely missed that amazing moment.  I witnessed something special, and I am grateful to have seen that.

Present moment gives us the beautiful experiences we need in life.  Be there-be in the present moment.

Let go of lingering in the future and/or past.  Move in your life in the present moment. Feel what your hands and feet are feeling.  Be there!
