Just because you can, does not mean you should!

I remember when I was a young Reiki practitioner just starting out.

I had beliefs in my head that I needed to "save the world."

Reiki practitioners were given the idea that we need to place healing energy everywhere, spreading healing energy to everything and everyone. Reiki practitioners were given the idea to send Reiki energy to other people even without their consent.

"If the person has not given you permission, you can send it to their higher selves with the stipulation that if the higher self does not want it, the Reiki energy can be sent somewhere else where needed."

And so, Reiki energy was sent out to who we, the Reiki practitioners deemed needed it.

This reminds me of prayer. Prayers are sent to complete strangers because the sender believes the other person needs to have it.

Reiki energy and prayer are beautiful!

But when we take it upon ourselves to send out this energy to someone without permission, we are judging that person. We are placing ourselves higher than the other person saying, "I know better than you. I know what you need more than what you and God know you need.”

By sending it to our higher selves instead of talking and asking for permission from the human being, we are treating the human being as being below us. We are looking down at the person, which is manipulative, judgmental, and disrespectful.

When we believe we are above another person, knowing better, we take on their difficulties, energetically. This would be a form of karma to the energy sender.

All people are placed in situations that at times, are uncomfortable. Accept that each one of us is with God, always. God guides us and teaches us, no matter who we are and what we do in life. No matter how hard our situations get, we are always one with God. Thus, we receive love, support, and guidance at all times from God.

I remember years ago; I was sending out Reiki energy to a Google + friend's mom. I did not know this man other than that we followed each other on social media. He had recently passed at the age of 59 years old, leaving his mom, an elderly lady of 90-something alone, or at least I thought she was.

I knew she would be in a lot of pain from losing a son. And I knew she was elderly and so I sent her Reiki energy for a week to help ease her pain.

This was a beautiful sentiment, but it was disrespectful and thoughtless of me.

First, permission is needed to send out my Reiki energy. Permission from the human being. I did not have this, other than relying on the old saying, send it to the higher self.

Secondly, she had the help, support, love of her family and of God. God could have been giving her a learning situation. If so, I may have taken away her chance at learning something God had wanted her to experience.

Third, what if she was energy sensitive???

If she were energy sensitive and had not known what Reiki energy was, I would have placed her in a lot of extra stress due to having an unknown feeling of energy coming down on her from no-where.

So potently, the beautiful thought/behavior could have sent her into an early passing due to extra stress. (Now, I am sure that God knew what my intentions were and so God knew that she would be receiving Reiki energy for her highest good.)

Years ago, when I was conscious of energy around me, I had known psychic mediums, Reiki practitioners, and energy readers from social media.

One day, I felt energy coming down on my head and slowly moving down my body. If I had not been a Reiki practitioner, I would not have known what was going on, sending me into a lot of stress and fear.

As it was, I knew the feel of having my auric field scanned by someone else.

I felt angry, confused, and betrayed by whoever was doing this to me. Why?

They did not have my permission to investigate my energy. They were violating my privacy, I was being “sized up,” and they were taking from me.

It is like having a pest control person invading your house looking for pests without you giving them permission to come in!

They took information from me because they felt it was their right or because they felt they could because they were energy readers.

This is disrespectful, potently judgmental depending on the reason why they did this and manipulative behavior.

I knew an energy reader that felt it was his/her right to do readings on any person's photo that was in the public and then share it to the public on top of it. This to me is an invasion of the person's privacy. (Photo person/celebrity)

Each day, we all read each other’s energy, unconsciously, subconsciously, or consciously. Reading each other's energy is a given to a certain extent. But to go out of someone's way to do auric field readings or even scan someone else, without permission, is disrespectful and violates someone else's privacy!

Just because we can, does not mean we should!

We are not only a human body, but we are spirit also.

Everyone on Earth is here to learn. Sometimes, we need to learn that everyone deserves their privacy and our respect as a fellow human being and family in spirit.

Placing personal boundaries for someone is a wonderful way to help stop others from invading privacy and to teach others about respect and privacy.

Years ago, I had my spiritual awakening. My spiritual awakening was half horror movie and half love story.

How many of you have experienced spiritual beings- feel them, hear them, smell them, etc.?

During my spiritual awakening, I had spirit people in my bedroom before I went to sleep.

It was quite the eye-opening experience. I remember sitting in my bed reading, only to have someone place their hand on my shoulder and it was not my husband’s hand!

When I laid down to sleep, I had cigarette-smelling breath from a woman, hit my face saying something like, "Hey there girlie."

Overall, putting in place personal boundaries for the spirit people who were walking all over my privacy, worked.

Privacy! Respecting others and their space! At times, we forget that others desire exactly what we desire at times.

If a person does not respect others,’ they do not respect themselves as well.

If a person becomes angry at your personal boundaries, that person does not have any or has little personal boundaries for themselves. Make your personal boundaries anyways and hold them in place.

Before sending out Reiki energy, prayer, or any other form without the other person saying, "yes to receiving it", hold back in doing it. Maybe just hold a space for them with well wishes. Maybe give them your ear and listen to them instead. Many people just want to be heard. Talking over uncomfortable circumstances can be more beneficial than sending unwanted healing energy/prayer.

In my years of Reiki practice, I have learned that many people do not want to heal from the inside out. And so, respecting others’ decisions is showing our love to them. It shows that we respect their decision and God’s decision. In time, when the person has learned what they need to learn in this life, the person with God’s help will change their paths. But for now, be there as a friend, as a fellow human-being.
