Foundation Needed

Follow your dream.

But make sure you have laid down a solid foundation for it before you bring it to the public.

What does this mean?

When I first started my coursework for Reiki 1, I and my classmates were taught this class for 1 month. We had homework every week and we had class meetups every week with teaching and questions included.  At the end of our Reiki 1 class, we were tested on all what we were taught. If we did not pass, we did not receive our certificate. No certificate, no Reiki 2 class.

Our teacher provided us with a solid foundation to start our Reiki journey.

When I finished my coursework/ Reiki 1-Reiki 3 (Master-practitioner), I had placed about 1.5-2 years into learning the Reiki practice. The coursework itself is not hard. But it is practice and experience one needs to have to be able to bring a solid, knowledgeable Reiki session to the others.

But not only is this solid Reiki foundation needed in spiritual healing, but a good foundation in:

-Healing oneself from their emotional pain so as not to project it on to others during the Reiki session.

-Understanding oneself, through and through. Thus, you do not take on your client's energy.

-Having a quality self-care practice in place. This provides the practitioner with self-love and a high energy vibration to offer the client.

How one treats themself, is how that person will treat others.

When a Reiki practitioner/ Reiki Master practitioner works with others, they need to:

- Understand how to listen to the client.

-How to talk with the client.

-Have a good understanding of how energy in the human body works.

-Have a good understanding of human emotions. After all, human emotions/energy are at the root of many problems in the human body and human relationships.

-Have compassion and forgiveness for oneself and others.

-Have a understanding of death and the process.

- How to talk about death.

Working with the public in a spiritual healing modality means the Reiki practitioner/ Reiki Master-practitioner has a great responsibility. People's health, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual is important.  A good foundation is required for a spiritual healer.

Ego has no place in healing modalities.

Through the years, I have observed Reiki classes being offered over 1 weekend.

Friday and Saturday, learn all the Reiki classes and be accredited as a Reiki Master teacher!!!!

No experience and no practice in this spiritual healer who is in the public teaching and healing others.

There is a lack of a solid Reiki foundation and understanding in this practitioner due to the "quick certification."

These types of dream foundations are seen in other areas also.

"With power comes great responsibility!"  * A quote from Spiderman's uncle in the Marvel comics/movie.

These words ring true.

I, myself, have studied subjects in human emotions (psychology), human emotional pain, death, spiritual, metaphysical, microbiology, food/diet/healing, and physical health.

I have studied some ancient and present-day religions as well.

I still feel the need to study more to help in my own healing process and in providing quality Reiki to others.

Learning is a process, and it is a never-ending process.

What we bring into this world and to others will always be there in one form or another.

We are responsible for what we create for ourselves and others in this life.

So, follow your dream, but make sure you create a solid foundation in it before you bring it to the public.

I have used all procedures I have written about and have found them to be helpful as tools to help myself become a better person.   I am sharing them with you because used as a tool, they are helpful in Shadow working on ourselves.  (Shadow working is healing our inner shadows that are unconscious or subconscious.  Inner shadows are our belief systems, our thoughts, our behaviors, our life experiences.)

I created this blog for my Reiki clients originally.  Combining these tools with Reiki creates a happy, healthy person.  These tools, when used alone are also beneficial!
