The Dance

“ Do not judge others as inferior, though some cognitive styles can be more emotionally problematic than others. The goal is always to remove obstacles that keep our hearts closed or foster misunderstanding. You’re learning about each other. It is an ongoing” dance of connection, respect, tolerance, and love."                                                                                                                                     -Judith Orloff M.D.

Some deep feeling words Dr. Judith Orloff said.

These words made me think of the present situation and past situations that all are related.

Wars breakout in our own minds and hearts. What??? Conflict starts in the mind of a person. The person sees/views another person or situation or experience as going against what they believe in.

At times we tend to take that little seed of not understanding and we turn it into a huge fear in our minds.

That person who does Reiki, she is evil to work with energy and spirit. The seed came from another group of people who also do not understand or even want to understand. Thus, the seed grows in the minds of people who have no idea what Reiki is or does. Instead, these people follow fear (the seed) and they allow it to grow in their minds and hearts. They close their hearts off from this person, other people who are involved with Reiki, Energy work, Spiritual work, spiritual people, and anything that has to do with "the unknown." They judged a whole group of people and modalities that are not main stream, but may have helped them.

Those people who have autism are not capable of taking care of themselves, let alone have any type of intelligence, many people would say in society. Another different group of people have been judged. They have been judged as incompetent and dull-minded because they too have different ways in life than most others in society. They are super sensitive to their environments, which causes them to have some different ways to react and live. Hearts closed-off towards these individuals.

Those people with different words, different stories, and different views based on their Bible are judged as, Not right and are evil, and are seen as "other." (Other was a technique to teach military men and women how to view people. They were taught Others were not seen as human. This way, they could more easily shoot and kill them without much consciousness during war.) The others' stories and beliefs are judged to be wrong

It happened the way our Bible said and not their way, people would say.

And then another group of people, Our Bible is the only right way to follow.

And then another group of people, Our interpretation of our Bible is the only right interpretation!

And then another group of people, Our interpretation of your Bible and your ways are the only right interpretations.

And then another group of people, You'll go to hell if you do not follow our way.

And then another group of people, ........

 You get the picture.

The judgements are based on misunderstandings, not understanding, and not interested in understanding. Truly if people stayed open-hearted, they all could learn from each other.

Comparing and accepting different cultural beliefs, religions, and uniquenesses among people can help all of us grow, emotionally, spiritually, and keep us open-hearted. Having empathy towards each other is the only way to grow in a positive way.

We understand that everyone has worth regardless of our differences. Thus, we are able to clear the seed of fear out of our minds and  keep our hearts open.

We, each one of us, is actually a unique, beautiful spiritual-form wearing clothes (a human body), and living a human life.  We all, including earth and the universe, come from one source. Which means we are all connected as spirit to each other, the earth, and the universe. We are One.

We all can practice our dance of being more open-hearted, accepting, tolerant, and loving towards each other. Our differences make us more strong as people.

I have used all procedures I have written about and have found them to be helpful as tools to help myself become a better person.   I am sharing them with you because used as a tool, they are helpful in Shadow working on ourselves.  (Shadow working is healing our inner shadows that are unconscious or subconscious.  Inner shadows are our belief systems, our thoughts, our behaviors, our life experiences.)

I created this blog for my Reiki clients originally.  Combining these tools with Reiki creates a happy, healthy person.  These tools, when used alone are also beneficial!
